Summary of Changes

Hello @jogold, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request resolves an issue in the URL shortener's redirect edge function where the S3 bucket name was not being correctly identified from the CloudFront origin domain. By introducing a dedicated parsing utility, the change ensures accurate extraction of both the S3 bucket and its region, which is crucial for successful object retrieval and proper URL redirection.

Highlights

  • Improved S3 Bucket Name and Region Extraction: The logic for extracting the S3 bucket name and region from the CloudFront origin domain name within the redirect edge function has been refactored. A new utility function, extractS3Details, now uses a regular expression for more robust and accurate parsing.
  • Enhanced S3 Client Initialization: The S3 client is now initialized with the region dynamically extracted by the new extractS3Details function, ensuring that the client targets the correct AWS region for S3 operations.
  • Robust Error Handling: An explicit check has been added to verify that S3 details are successfully extracted, preventing potential runtime errors if the origin domain name format is unexpected.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request fixes a bug in the redirect edge function where the S3 bucket name was being incorrectly determined. The change introduces a new helper function, extractS3Details, to robustly parse the bucket name and region from the S3 origin domain name using a regular expression. This is a significant improvement over the previous string replacement logic. My feedback includes a suggestion to refactor the new helper function for better performance and readability. The rest of the changes are snapshot updates which are expected and look correct.
