My intuition is that I would like to overhaul TIFF parser if I would support BigTIFF. The current parser is designed to read the whole Exif segment into the memory, which may be impractical for large images that BigTIFF targets. This is not a problem for other formats than TIFF, because an Exif segment is relatively small data even if the containing image is large. For TIFF, Exif attributes are intermixed with TIFF image data, so the problem arises... |

There is still a bit of work to do here, but I have noticed that there are zero PRs merged in this project, so far, so I would like some confirmation that this project team is interested in this feature, before I finish it off.
