This PR contains the following updates:

Package Change Age Confidence
github.com/stretchr/testify v1.11.0 -> v1.11.1 age confidence

Release Notes

stretchr/testify (github.com/stretchr/testify)

v1.11.1

Compare Source

This release fixes #1785 introduced in v1.11.0 where expected argument values implementing the stringer interface (String() string) with a method which mutates their value, when passed to mock.Mock.On (m.On("Method", <expected>).Return()) or actual argument values passed to mock.Mock.Called may no longer match one another where they previously did match. The behaviour prior to v1.11.0 where the stringer is always called is restored. Future testify releases may not call the stringer method at all in this case.

Renovate PR Review Results

⚖️ Safety Assessment: ✅ Safe

🔍 Release Content Analysis

  • Bug Fix: Resolves regression in mock argument matching behavior introduced in v1.11.0
  • Backward Compatibility: Restores pre-v1.11.0 behavior for mutating Stringer interface implementations
  • No Breaking Changes: Patch release that fixes existing functionality without introducing new APIs
  • No Security Fixes: Release focuses on correcting mock behavior, no security implications

🎯 Impact Scope Investigation

  • Usage Locations: testify is used in 9 test files across the codebase (internal/gat and internal/prettier packages)
  • Primary Usage: Standard assert functions (assert.Equal, assert.NoError, etc.) - not affected by the mock changes
  • Mock Usage: No mock.Mock.On() or mock.Mock.Called() usage found in codebase
  • Dependencies: No transitive dependency conflicts expected

💡 Recommended Actions

  • Immediate Merge: Safe to merge without code modifications
  • No Manual Migration Required: The codebase only uses testify's assert package, not the mock functionality that was fixed
  • Testing: Standard test suite execution will validate compatibility
