The KRM function SDK go library was temporarily forked as part of the Nephio project.
This PR aims to pull back all the changes that was made there to this upstream repo.
This PR is copied from PR 738, and it has been rebased. Changes made to the Porch clone of "krm-functions-sdk" since September 18th have also been merged into this PR.
Once this PR is merged, the copied code in Nephio Porch can be deleted and this code can be used instead.
