What is this PR about? / Why do we need it?
added optional value externalId in cross-account assume role secret

What testing is done?

  1. Deployed this helm chart with private image in an EKS cluster
  2. Setup the permissions required between account A and B
  3. Setup the StorageClass, Secret, PVC and Pod in the cross-account example doc
  4. The secret contains the following information:
    • awsRoleArn: <REDACTED>
    • externalId: <REDACTED>
    • crossaccount: true
  5. Able to assume role from the controller SA

Hi @andylim0221. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes-sigs member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.
