v0.1.7 has been released, this repo has skipped a few releases, but the 0.1.6 release was the make the mod compatible with Factorio version 1.1+.

Now in this release, thanks to some feedback, there is a new feature available, and it has a Setting available which can be changed at any time in the game's Mod Settings screen for Biter Factions.

the setting added is called "Culling Per Chunk %" and allows the mod to kill anywhere from 0 to 95% (max value) of entities found in the chunk before assigning the randomized faction to it. This happens during new chunk generation/exploration only.

This is a way to let users get more control over the UPS loss which is seen when you explore out into the world and the biter bases start to get huge, and the chaos which ensues from the civil wars in each nest is quite tough on the game sometimes.

A recommended value is 75% which I made the default, but up to 90% is still reasonable to handle massive nests.

You may want to change this to your liking as you go along.

The idea is that as long as a couple of the nests survive and have random factions, they will build up and explore soon enough!
