Here's a proposed lexicon for geographic place information, which builds on the existing
community.lexicon.location.*types, and adds conventions for globally unique identifiers, naming schemes, vendor attributes, revision tracking, and concordance.My hope is that this provides a fairly complete means for ATProto devs to build location-aware applications that can work with place gazetteers, emit user-generated place descriptions, and reference places from other kinds of application records.
I realize this is a pretty chunky PR. I would love to have some real-time conversation and feedback on this proposal, if the Github PR comments aren't sufficient.
