What this is
RefreshRate.app is a browser tool to measure how your display behaves in motion, not just what the OS settings show.
It uses real frame timing to estimate refresh rate and show motion clarity.
Highlights
- Motion Tracks (50 ms, 100 ms, 150 ms, 500 ms, 1000 ms) with expected ghost count
- Live metrics: FPS, frame duration (ms), measured refresh rate (Hz), pixels per frame, pixels per second, aspect ratio, resolution, system scale, screen orientation
- Frame Rate Preview for common FPS targets (30, 60, 120, 165, 240, 360, 480, 600) plus a custom row for your exact panel Hz
- Simple controls: background lane color, decimals, and metrics update interval
- PWA-ready: installable and can run offline once cached
How to use
Open https://refreshrate.app.
Move the browser to the monitor you care about and use Fullscreen for more consistent timing.
Keep the tab visible and focused during the test.
Known limitations
Results can vary by browser, OS compositor, power settings, and background load.
VRR displays can produce less consistent samples.
This is a practical tool, not a lab instrument.
