Customization

The customizer is a WordPress screen in which you can change settings, which are mostly layout related. The changes in these settings are immediately visible. Linden adds a couple of additional customizer fields.

Usually, you find your customizer on http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/customize.php. Obviously, swap yourdomain.com for your own domain.

Customizer Settings

So what kind of settings are added to the customizer by the Linden theme?

  • Under Identity, options for a logo can be set-up
  • Under Homepage, you can choose whether to show a static page, your latest projects or your latest posts on the homepage.
  • Under Layout, you can change layout settings for the overall dimensions, for the header, for posts, for projects, for 404 pages and for the footer.
  • Under Colors, the colors of backgrounds and typography can be changed for various sections.
  • Under Typography, the typography for almost any section of the website can be changed.

Adding new customizer fields

As a developer, you can also manually add new customizer fields using the 'linden_configurations' WordPress filter. More information can be found on the Filter and Action Hooks Wiki page.
