TODO:

• Reimplement the saving of the state in the cookie.
• Fix the issue regarding moving the splitter.
• Use a timer for the resizing. This will improve performance and will fix the resize event cascade in IE.

Ideas:

• Switch away from using position absolute for the panels.
• Enable margin, border and padding for the separator.
