LeafShapeTool v0.9.0 — First preview release

Overview

This is the first public pre-release of LeafShapeTool, an interactive leaf shape analysis application built on napari.
It integrates ROI cropping, landmark annotation, image rotation, binarization, contour extraction, and Elliptic Fourier Descriptors (EFD) computation into a single GUI workflow.

The current name is provisional and may change in future releases.

Known Issues

  • macOS/Linux builds not yet tested
  • Scripts are currently messy and need refactoring
  • SAM2 currently supports CPU processing only, which may result in slow performance.

Future Plans

  • Add GPU acceleration for SAM2 to improve processing speed
  • Improve GUI layout and usability.
  • Expand and refine documentation.

🧪 Note: This is an early development version (0.9.0).
Expect frequent updates before the stable release 1.0.0.
