I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, but I was getting a error:
ConnectionError: ('Connection aborted.', error(13, 'Permission denied'))
when running this Code on Google's App Engine. I guess something to do with the request library in flask. So I changed it to use the urlfetch module from google.appengine.api.
