Hi, i created a "fork" of this project. The project has no dependencies on Backbone/JQuery. It would be great if we could make some kind of merge/integration. |

This will be a major semver bump with I think it would be good to do this
eventually the goal should be to drop the direct dependency on underscore and backbone as well, but I will save that for a later PR.
