✨ Hello internet, we are back. ✨

I have finally shown this project some love and attention it deserves. I have combed through the entire backlog of issues and all open pull requests.

Everything should be entirely backwards compatible, except for dropping Python 2 support. The earliest supported Python is 3.8 now.
