The proper mitigation is to update openssh to the latest version which includes a protocol update to fix this.

The proper mitigation is to update openssh to the latest version which includes a protocol update to fix this.

Obviously, it is proper mitigation, but according to Shadowserver there still 11 millions of vulnerable SSH servers that used older versions of SSH that can't be updated and the only fix is to remove vulnerable Ciphers and MAC.

May be adding some notes regarding mitigation for such systems would be helpful for those who can't run latest versions of SSH (embedded setups especially vulnerable to the case)
