SORCER (an acronym for Service-Oriented Computing EnviRonment), is a distributed service-oriented computing platform with its own service-oriented programming model, SORCER operating system (SOS), and a dynamic service-oriented virtual processor. The SOS service commands that execute service federations at runtime are called exertions. SORCER allows programming of dynamic service-oriented applications in the form of service compositions expressed in its exertion-oriented language and executed by the SOS network shell.

The foundations of SORCER were developed under the FIPER project and then expended at the SORCER Lab, TTU. Responsibility for maintaing SORCER has been transferred to the SORCER Research Group at SORCERsoft.org http://www.sorcersoft.org.
