Code Review

This pull request upgrades the jimp dependency from ^0.6.4 to ^0.22.12 to resolve several security vulnerabilities. While this is an important security update, this major version jump introduces breaking changes that will cause build and runtime failures. The current implementation in src/lambda/s3/resizeImage.ts is incompatible with [email protected].

Specifically, two changes are required in src/lambda/s3/resizeImage.ts before this PR can be merged:

  1. The import path must be updated. import Jimp from 'jimp/es' will fail, and should be changed to import Jimp from 'jimp'.
  2. The getBufferAsync method call is incorrect. await image.getBufferAsync(Jimp.AUTO) will cause a runtime error. It should be changed to await image.getBufferAsync(Jimp.MIME_JPEG) to correctly generate a JPEG buffer.

I have added a comment on package.json to highlight the risk of merging this change as-is. It is recommended to apply these fixes in this branch before merging.

"elasticsearch": "^15.5.0",
"http-aws-es": "^6.0.0",
"jimp": "^0.6.4",
"jimp": "^0.22.12",

critical

This major version upgrade of jimp introduces significant breaking changes. As a result, the current code that uses jimp in src/lambda/s3/resizeImage.ts is no longer compatible and will cause build and runtime failures. Please see the general PR summary for details on the required code changes before merging.

P1 Badge Update Jimp import to match upgraded package

The commit bumps Jimp from 0.6.x to 0.22.x but leaves the only usage importing from jimp/es. The es entrypoint existed in the legacy 0.6 build but was removed when the library switched to modern exports; since 0.22 the package exposes jimp as the default entry and subpath jimp/es no longer resolves. After this upgrade, every invocation of the resize Lambda will fail at startup with Cannot find module 'jimp/es' instead of processing thumbnails. The import needs to be updated (e.g., to jimp) or the dependency choice reconsidered before release.
