This pr is trying to fix #2841 and #2856, according to the report of @imsys .

It does fix the errors in #2841.

But from my tests, the pmem() problem #2856 is still present. That is also a regression as I do remember it working in the past. Ideally if I spend sometime looking what commit caused the problem, that would make things easier. I will try to do it soon.

I have sent a patch to fix #2856 according to #2856 (comment) by @imsys 's suggestion.

As I have reviewed, this fixes 10 carts.
I have also tested all the other python carts, and they all work, so there are no regressions.

So, for me this is approved.

My only comment is that there are two games (POP! FISHING and HEXAPIX) that still error with: TypeError: 'dict_iterator' object is not subscriptable.
