LTS Builds: FAQ

o355 edited this page Jan 27, 2017 · 2 revisions

LTS builds (or Long Term support) builds are specific builds of PyTerm that don't get feature upgrades, but instead, bug fixes for an extended amount of time.

Currently, version 1.15 is an LTS build. LTS builds can be found in the lts branch, they need to be separated so things are easier to edit.

LTS builds receive support for 6 months after they release, and support may be extended. LTS builds usually don't come with initial big version builds (2.0 won't be an LTS build), there are plenty of bugs still left in newer big versions.

Here's the current, and (semi-future) timeline for LTS builds.

  • 1.15.x - Supported until January 1, 2018 (extended support since I haven't fully bug-tested 1.15)
  • 2.1.x - Likely to be supported until Late 2017

Non-LTS builds don't get support at all from the initial release, as those are the ones that get progressed with PyTerm.
