I understand that this is WIP/Draft, but should this PR be linked to open-telemetry/opentelemetry-python#2993 for better visibility?

The state of instrumenting structlog is pretty confusing. Went down a few issues/PR comments to end up here. @znd4 are you actively working on this PR at the moment or did you have to stop your work?
