Seems that orbisgis project has moved java version to 11 since CTS 1.6.
There is also JGraphT that I have not been able to upgrade since years as it also depends on java 11.
I can wait to switch to a new java version but maybe we should release a last java 8 compatible version by the end of the year, then switch to java 11. What do you think ?

all good. raising java class compatibility to minimum 11 is quite reasonable by now.

needs to be done in pom and readme as well then of course. feeling up to it?
