Replace the 200+ case switch statement (the #1 VM interpreter signature) with grouped handler function arrays and if-else routing. Each opcode handler becomes a closure in one of 2-4 balanced groups, dispatched via if-else tree rather than a monolithic switch. Async interpreter handlers use async function expressions with awaited dispatch calls. Handler fragmentation is automatically disabled when function table dispatch is active since closures provide natural isolation.
