What is BUVIC

BUVIC is a small python application that executes calculations of cosine corrected irradiance from brewer raw UV measurements. Its user interface is a web interface running in the browser and its backend is typically running as a docker image.

What can it do

BUVIC converts raw UV measurements from brewer instruments into calibrated spectral irradiance. Cosine and temperature correction can optionally be applied to these calibrated spectra.

The data used as input to the calculations not only includes the raw UV measurements but also other parameters like O3 levels, albedo or aerosols.

All this data can be read from files on the filesystem and some of them can alternatively be retrieved on the Internet via REST APIs.

BUVIC can output the data in multiple formats, inclusive a simple "qasume" file containing the spectrum's data or UVER files containing weighted daily doses.
