I think long term we should use the binary directly as this docker looks not well maintained (last update now and the one before two years ago).
The released versions on Docker seem to match quite exactly all GitHub releases, it's just that the latest v2.12 dates from 2 years ago. This is by the way the official image released by hadolint itself.

Right now the CI is broken because of hadolint, I use the old version for now.
