It seems this code is a dead tail now. The evidence for this is that the spock.md5_agg aggregate function and its supporting sfunc were defined in the main installation file (spock--5.0.0.sql) but are not present in any upgrade scripts, including the latest upgrade path from 5.0.4 to 6.0.0-devel.
