The detect_unicode was removed and zend.detect_unicode was added in PHP 5.4 (bbf3d43).

Unless I've missed something, I think there isn't any INI setting named "detect_unicode" anymore but there is this "zend.detect_unicode". Since setting detect_unicode to
offdoesn't do anything, this can be probably removed now.The
detect_unicodewas removed andzend.detect_unicodewas added in PHP 5.4 (bbf3d43).
