Doing some simple maintenance of running formatting across the repository

Our GH actions workflow currently runs black with a line length of 127, not with black's default line length

PittAPI/.github/workflows/autotest.yml

Lines 41 to 42 in cbe748b

- name: Format with black
run: black --line-length=127 --check --diff .

so that's why the merge checks are failing
