Nearly identical pull request as this, but much safer with handling forward slashes.
We ran into an issue using MAMP and serving Statamic from a subdirectory would break this plugin, because the AJAX urls were hardcoded.
We've taken the approach of setting a _site_root variable within a script that is placed on the fileclerk field template instead of using a data attribute to avoid making an extra jQuery call every time you interact with fileclerk.
