When using smc++ for population history inference, does the input file VCF need to be filtered by linkage unbalanced LD?

The SMC++ paper writes

In this paper, we present a new inference framework called SMC++ that combines the computational efficiency of the SFS and the advantage of utilizing LD information in coalescent HMMs.

I imagine LD pruning is not necessary
