Hi there, I'm Pranavi! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ”ญโš›๏ธ

"I used to write code for telecom giants. Now I write code for quantum computers. Turns out, both involve a lot of praying to the debugging gods."

๐ŸŒŒ Who Am I? (A Superposition of Things)

A Quantum Software Engineer & MS grad in Quantum Information Science (USC '25), which basically means I've chosen to make my career in a field where the fundamental unit of information can be both 0 and 1 โ€” and I find this deeply comforting as a person who can never pick one favourite anything.

Presently, as a Quantum Software Engineer at NeoQuortex, I'm doing some exciting early-stage work at the intersection of quantum chemistry, quantum circuits, algorithms, and software (more details to come when we're out in the wild! ๐Ÿš€).

Before quantum called my name, I spent two years as a Software Developer at Amdocs shipping telecom solutions โ€” working with Java, APIs, MySQL, production releases, and client calls โ€” the whole nine yards. Turns out understanding classical computing makes quantum computing feel even more beautifully, chaotically entangled.

Beyond software, I've taught high schoolers that quantum computing is cool, AR/VR on Meta Quest headsets is cooler, and semiconductors are the coolest - the unsung heroes of the modern world (that's my FAITH). I've also experimented with hardware and electronics all my life โ€” and would love to break something apart to see how it works, just like I did with my first 3x3 Rubik's cube. Moreover, I spent my entire undergrad journey stargazing with an astronomy society, and space exploration, along with the quest to uncover the secrets of the universe, remain among my greatest loves. I like to think of myself as a person of science in every aspect of life โ€” even while cooking, this curious brain will simply not turn off.

Organised, neat, dedicated โ€” and genuinely excited to take on whatever comes next. โœจ

โš›๏ธ What I'm Up To

  • ๐Ÿ”ฌ @NeoQuortex โ€” Engineering cool things in the quantum computing space. Details under wraps for now โ€” watch this space! ๐Ÿ‘€
  • ๐ŸŽ“ USC Viterbi Grad (2025) โ€” Learning never stops.. ๐Ÿง
  • ๐Ÿ“ Based in the DC/Maryland area now, heart still partially in LA โ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ“Œ Projects Worth Peeking At

Project What's Going On
๐Ÿ”Œ error-mitigation Implementing ZNE (Zero-Noise Extrapolation) โ€” because quantum computers are noisy and pretending otherwise is not a strategy
๐Ÿงฎ quantum-algorithms Grover's algorithm running on IBM, IonQ, IQM & Rigetti โ€” because one quantum hardware isn't enough
๐ŸŒŠ phys550 Open Quantum Systems final project โ€” exploring how the universe insists on disturbing our qubits

๐ŸŒ  Fun Facts & Other Phenomena

  • ๐Ÿ† Won Smart India Hackathon 2019 โ€” for Queue Data Analytics using Cisco Meraki's MV Sense. Yep, I was hacking on Python + IoT before it was my whole personality.
  • ๐Ÿ”ญ Former Joint Secretary, Thapar Amateur Astronomers Society โ€” organized stargazing events for 300+ school kids. Getting people to look up is underrated.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป Led GirlScript Foundation - Patiala Chapter โ€” organized city-level tech events to get more women into engineering. Still very much a cause close to my heart.
  • ๐Ÿค– Built a maze-solving obstacle-avoiding bot in undergrad because I needed something that could navigate life better than I could.
  • ๐Ÿ† Top 10% merit scholar at Thapar Institute | School Rank 2 in National Science Olympiad | Head Girl in High School
  • ๐ŸŒ Trilingual: English, Hindi, Punjabi โ€” and fluent in HTML error messages
