I've amended this with another little trick: the order of the branches in |

Weirdly, benchmarking is showing this to actually be way slower. No idea why. Will post if/when I get this working to my satisfaction. |

Added an optimization for the TC dictionary lookup. In my informal benchmarks, these changes result in a small performance improvement, about 2%. |
