Most changes to Python require a NEWS entry. Add one using the blurb_it web app or the blurb command-line tool.

If this change has little impact on Python users, wait for a maintainer to apply the skip news label instead.

Needed to resolve Unix/Linux issue by resetting `skipinitialspace` parameter back to False for those systems

This is not a change that can (or should) be made directly to the 3.13 branch, even if the change was acceptable in the first place, and even if the change was acceptable to backport (which I do not believe it is). If you really think this should happen, open an issue to discuss it, and/or a PR to main.
