DOMINO is a Windows app for robotic manipulation in changing environments. It helps you run the software that supports robot control, task planning, and live environment updates.
This README shows you how to get the app from the release page and run it on Windows with no coding needed.
Visit the release page here:
On that page, look for the newest release. Under Assets, download the Windows file that matches your system. If you see a .zip file, download it and open it after the download finishes. If you see a .exe file, download it and run it.
DOMINO runs on most modern Windows PCs.
You will need:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- At least 8 GB of RAM
- 2 GB of free disk space
- A mouse and keyboard
- A stable internet connection for the first download
For a smooth experience, use a computer with:
- 16 GB of RAM
- A recent Intel or AMD processor
- A graphics card with current drivers
Follow these steps in order:
- Open the DOMINO Releases page.
- Find the latest release at the top of the page.
- In the Assets section, download the Windows package.
- If the file is a
.zip, right-click it and choose Extract All. - Open the extracted folder.
- If you see an
.exefile, double-click it to start the app. - If Windows shows a security prompt, choose More info and then Run anyway only if you trust the file from the release page.
- Wait for the app to load.
After you open DOMINO, you may see:
- A main dashboard
- A control panel for robot tasks
- Status panels for motion and environment updates
- Buttons for loading a task, starting a run, and stopping a run
- A log area that shows progress and errors
Use DOMINO with simple steps:
- Launch the app.
- Load a task or demo file if one is included.
- Connect your input device or robot setup if your version needs one.
- Review the task settings.
- Start the run.
- Watch the status area for progress.
- Stop the run when the task is done.
If the app includes sample scenes, use them first. They help you learn the layout before you try your own setup.
If DOMINO does not open:
- Check that the download finished
- Make sure you extracted the files if the package came as a
.zip - Right-click the app and choose Run as administrator
- Check whether your antivirus blocked the file
If Windows says the file is unknown:
- Open the file only from the official release page
- Re-download the package if the file seems damaged
If the app opens but looks blank:
- Wait a few seconds for the interface to load
- Close and reopen the app
- Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date
If you download a .zip package, you may see files like these after extraction:
DOMINO.exe— starts the appconfigfolder — holds settingsassetsfolder — holds images and data used by the applogsfolder — holds run history and error messagesREADMEfile — quick reference notes
Keep all files in the same folder so the app can find what it needs.
You may want to review these settings after your first launch:
- Display mode
- Window size
- Language
- Input device choice
- Task speed
- Log level
If you use a robot arm or test rig, make sure the device is connected before you start the app.
- Start with the default settings
- Use a sample task before a custom one
- Keep the app and any driver software in the same folder
- Save your work before closing the app
- Read the on-screen labels before pressing run
The release page usually contains:
- The newest version
- Older versions
- Windows download files
- Release notes
- Checksums or hashes for file checks
Choose the newest release unless you need an older build for a specific setup.
If you downloaded a .zip file:
- Keep the extracted folder in a place you can find again
- Create a desktop shortcut for the
.exefile if you want faster access - Leave the folder intact so the app can keep its files together
- Open the app from the shortcut or the
.exefile
If you downloaded an installer:
- Run the installer
- Follow the prompts on screen
- Finish setup
- Open DOMINO from the Start Menu or desktop
If the file will not download:
- Refresh the release page
- Try another browser
- Check your internet connection
- Make sure your browser is not blocking the download
If the file is too large:
- Wait for the download to finish
- Keep the browser open
- Pause other large downloads while DOMINO downloads
If the file opens in the browser instead of downloading:
- Right-click the link
- Choose Save link as
- Pick a folder on your computer
The fastest way to learn DOMINO is to:
- Open the app
- Explore the main screen
- Load a sample task
- Watch how each control changes the run
- Try one setting at a time
This gives you a clear view of how the app handles robotic tasks in dynamic environments
