The goal of this PR is to support #50, specifically so we can have the high-level style there too. That seems more suitable for the Go integration, where there is not an easy way to parse SCTs (except manually) or get an X509 serial number (without reforming it according to the DER minimum magnitude rule and hoping for the best).
