Summary of Changes

Hello @feeblefakie, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request is an automated backport that primarily focuses on adjusting the access modifier of the TransactionContext constructor. By making the constructor public, it enhances the flexibility and extensibility of the TransactionContext class, potentially enabling external components or test frameworks to create instances directly.

Highlights

  • Constructor Visibility: The constructor for TransactionContext has been changed from package-private to public, allowing broader access and instantiation.

Code Review

This pull request backports a change to make the TransactionContext constructor public, presumably for testing purposes. While the change is straightforward, it exposes a class with public mutable fields (scanners and recoveryResults) outside its package. This could lead to misuse and break transaction invariants. I have recommended annotating the constructor with @VisibleForTesting to clarify its intended use and mitigate this risk.
