TRIVIAL-OCTET-STREAMS is a library to provide analogues to
MAKE-STRING-{INPUT,OUTPUT}-STREAM.  I find myself frequently wanting
such functionality, but it's not worth importing libraries like ironclad
or flexi-streams to get access to them.
