CAN to Inverter Connection

Si Jones edited this page Jun 7, 2024 · 1 revision

Each Inverter has it's own connection method, the manual for the Inverter should identify how to connect to it.

There is only 2 wires required, CAN H and CAN L, although some have a Ground available there is no need for it to be connected.

The Inverter should have a RJ45 connector port on it, using a normal Cat5 patch cable with one end cut off can work for an easy solution.

On a Solis Inverter the RJ45 Pins 4 and 5 are used, Pin 4 being H and Pin 5 for L.

It's recommended to use a isolated CAN Bus adapter, the one I would recommend is:

CAN Bus Adapter

The wiring is the same as the other one mentioned on the how to wire CAN Bus adapter, but this has 2 CAN Interfaces, therefore ignore the second one and also don't need to wire the second INT and CS pins.
