It's a standalone mod, which means it functions as a separate game from ClanGen - no need to replace any files, just open and play!
If you're a developer or a modder, you can open RainGen from source code. Works exactly the same as opening the source code version of ClanGen. Here is a tutorial from ClanGen devs. If you struggle to follow it, here is a more in-depth guide. The described process is for LifeGen, but it works for RainGen too.
