  • Due to changes in babel, must now specify babel version: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52067944/cannot-find-module-babel-core/52067984
  • Can also add a "--hot" flag to webpack-dev-server for HMR
  • Invalid options can mess up the css-loader: webpack-contrib/css-loader#863
  • naming of variables returned by mapStateToProps must be consistent with naming inside the components in which the variables are being used
  • use react-hot-loader instead of webpack's HMR
  • "this" cannot be used to access props inside mapStateToProps unless you pass in ownProps as second parameter in mapStateToProps
