I am a research scientist, in theoretical computer science, high performance algorithms, data structures and beyond. I am a software engineer at Microsoft India development center. Previously I was an software development engineer intern at Amazon. I studied computer science at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

What I'm doing?

  • I am a software engineer at Microsoft Hyderabad (Building 4, Gachibowli). I am a part of Microsoft's Search Assistant and Intelligence group (MSAI Org) - currently working on the integration and large-scale optimization of generative autosuggestions in a high-throughput query box at world-wide scale (avg ~8B+ impressions per two weeks), leveraging advanced caching strategies and performance-oriented engineering optimizations to drive perceived latency down, increase scalability and efficiency.
  • I was an two months intern at Amazon India and was offered a return offer to work as a full-time sofware engineer. Worked with the Registration and Core Services team (known internally as Cincinnati team) at Amazon Bangalore. Implemented a redirection feature for the production environment on the Amazon Worldwide Seller Portal which automatically redirects seller from add new bank account page to the bank verification page. This improves customer experience, reduces time and effort for verifying bank accounts. Using WebLabs (selective deployment) we eventually deployed redirection feature to sellers in the United States. I also introduced several API changes in the backend of the word wide seller central portal. This acted as a foundation on which the rest of the team migrated APIs from different services.
  • I’m currently working on fundamental computer science research in algorithms (mainly in graph theory, graph coloring etc.), and data structures.
  • I run a website called algorithms.theroyakash.com which has huge collection of materials for FAANG and top startup's leetcode style coding interview questions and in-depth analysis along with C++ code. For some of the trickier questions a video explaination is also provided. I plan to expand the number of questions on the platform. This is a free initiative that I took.
