Turns out it's not worth completely re-inventing the wheel just for the "faders moving together in realtime on all connected devices" feature, although it was pretty neat. I've switched to an ESPHome based system hardware-wise, Homeassistant/NodeRed on the software side.

failighting is a decentralized, websocket-based lighting control system and totally WIP.

Even though the icon suggests WS2812 support, there is none yet. Just 9-channel PWM on an ESP-8266
