Summary of Changes

Hello @tunjid, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request introduces a significant refactoring of the OAuth session management within the application. The primary goal is to enhance the robustness and reliability of user authentication by persisting the state of an ongoing OAuth flow. This ensures that the authentication process can gracefully handle interruptions, such as application restarts, by storing all necessary pending session details in a centralized and durable manner.

Highlights

  • Persistent OAuth State: The pending OAuth session state is now robustly persisted in SavedStateDataSource using a new SavedState.AuthTokens.Pending.DPoP class. This change ensures that the OAuth flow can survive application restarts or other interruptions, making the authentication process more resilient.
  • Refactored Session Management: The SessionManager interface and its implementation have been updated to reflect the new persistent pending state. This includes renaming startOauthSessionUri to initiateOauthSession and changing its return type to the more structured SavedState.AuthTokens.Pending.
  • Enhanced OAuth Callback Validation: Explicit validation checks have been added for the server endpoint and OAuth state during the callback process. This prevents mismatches and improves the overall security and integrity of the OAuth authentication flow.
  • Centralized State Management: The transient pendingOauthSession variable previously used in SessionManager has been removed. All pending session details are now centralized and managed through the SavedStateDataSource, simplifying the session management logic.

Code Review

This pull request refactors the OAuth session management to be more secure and robust. It moves the pending OAuth session state from an in-memory property to the persistent SavedState, which is a great improvement for state management and concurrency safety. The changes also introduce crucial CSRF protection by verifying the state parameter in the OAuth callback. My review includes one suggestion to check for the expiration of the pending OAuth session to provide a better user experience in case of a timeout.
