Summary of Changes

Hello @tunjid, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request enhances the application's user experience by introducing a 'past sessions' feature, which streamlines the sign-in process by remembering previous user handles and displaying their avatars. It also empowers users with a new preference to manage video auto-play behavior across various timeline views, offering greater control over media playback. Underlying authentication mechanisms have been refined for more robust error handling, alongside minor UI improvements for better responsiveness and consistency.

Highlights

  • Past Sessions Feature: Implemented the ability to track and display past user sessions, allowing the sign-in screen to pre-fill the username field with the most recent session's handle and show its avatar.
  • Video Auto-Play Preference: Introduced a new user preference to control whether videos on timelines (Feed, Home, List, Post Detail, Profile, Search Results) auto-play, providing users with more control over media consumption.
  • Authentication Flow Improvements: Refactored the createSession method in AuthRepository to use an Outcome sealed class for better error handling and updated the session management logic to store SessionSummary data.
  • UI/UX Enhancements: Made several UI adjustments, including improving the layout of the bottom navigation bar for even item distribution and adding a dedicated pause button for playing videos in timelines.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request introduces several enhancements and bug fixes. Key changes include a new feature to remember past sessions for easier sign-in, complete with avatar display, and a user setting to control video autoplay in timelines. The video player UI is improved with a new pause button. Error handling for session creation is now more robust with the use of a custom Outcome type. Additionally, there are several layout fixes, notably for the bottom navigation bar and timeline titles, which enhance UI consistency. The code has also seen some good refactoring. Overall, these are solid improvements to functionality and user experience. I have one minor suggestion to improve code robustness.
