Éclat

𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑒.

Éclat is a color theme designed for extended reading, providing a peaceful atmosphere for a smooth coding experience. It is specifically built for visual compatibility with eye-protection tools like macOS Night Shift, ensuring the theme remains clear even when filters are active.

Unlike other "eye-care" themes that rely on green-tinted backgrounds or low-contrast colors, Éclat maintains a deep, modern aesthetic. Its secret lies in two design principles: a precise balance between luminance and saturation, and the complete omission of cyan and blue tones from the color palette.

I hope you can relax here!

Note

I'm actively maintaining this theme! If you find a bug or have suggestions for the color palette, feel free to open an issue.

Installation

You can install the color theme from Marketplace!

Backlog

There’s still a lot of work to be done. I’m currently focused on correcting brightness and matching luminance across common syntax blocks for a more consistent reading experience.

I’m also working on standardizing the color scales using scripts to generate reliable palettes, as most current colors were picked manually. Additionally, I plan to build a centralized tool to manage a single source of truth for the colors, allowing me to map and auto-generate the theme for different applications.
