Current issue: I found Godot Engine crashing a lot when there is an emitter configured in a scene that has been corrupted and when trying to save the scene, Godot just closes/crashes. This at least prevents the extension from blowing up completely and solves this issue for me.
Disclaimer: I am not 100% sure this is the correct fix but it definitely prevents Godot from crashing in case emitter state got corrupted somehow.
