degit has not been updated in over 4 years and although the basic functionality works, there are many issues present that haven't been fixed. (some examples: Rich-Harris/degit#179 Rich-Harris/degit#171)
tiged is a community fork of degit that has been actively maintained over the last few years and has fixed many of these issues already. It seems to now be a more reliable way to clone templates across all operating systems.
This PR just switches mentions/links of degit to tiged.
