Testing the changes

• I tested the changes in this PR: YES|briefly|NO
• ALSA being my only sound interface (no pipewire), I haven't experienced any sound issues after the update
• alsactl, amixer and aplay are still working as expected

Local build testing

• I built this PR locally for my native architecture, x86_64-glibc
