Project Abstract

The PolkaVote protocol is an on-chain protocol for binary anonymous voting that leverages ZKP and to evaluates the final vote on a chain in an anonymous fashion, while obfuscating the vote itself but not the voter's identity.

This proposal serves as the 3rd Milestone of the PolkaVote Web Summit hackathon winner. The idea is to implement the same system that was proposed and developed in the second Web Summit hackathon milestone as a palette.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (USDC & DOT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
  • I understand that an agreed upon percentage of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
  • I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @_______:matrix.org (change the homeserver if you use a different one)

Thanks a lot for the application. I have one initial question as you pointed out yourself, this project is a much better fit for Kusama and not the regular grants program. Why are you for example not applying for treasury funding from Kusama?

Hey, I agree. Made a mistake, what would you suggest to do? Where can I this proposal for Kusama?

Thanks for the quick reply. In this case, I will close the application. I would recommend to take a look at the treasury section here: https://github.com/w3f/Grants-Program?tab=readme-ov-file#treasury If the proposal get's rejected, feel free to reapply. Also you should keep an eye on this: https://kusama.subsquare.io/referenda/498, which might be interesting for you once it's implemented.
