🦋 Butterflies in my IDE 🦋

Butterfly

honestly these are the only butterflies i'm getting these days

Made with Love Vibes Butterflies

✨ what is this?

sometimes you're coding late at night and you realize the prettiest things you'll see today are the graphs you're making. so here we are. a collection of digital butterflies – delicate data visualizations that flutter across the screen because someone has to make beautiful things, even if it's just me, in my IDE, at 2am.

🌸 the collection 🌸

each butterfly is a little experiment. a tiny triumph. proof that even when you're debugging your life, you can still make something pretty.

"why butterflies?"
why not? they're delicate. they transform. they exist for a brief, beautiful moment.
just like my motivation to code.

butterfly. 1 - the first one
the one that started it all. simple. hopeful. a little wonky.

butterfly.2 - coming soon
(currently in chrysalis form. aka i'll make it tomorrow. probably.)

📚 what i learned

check out learnings.txt for my rambling thoughts on what this project taught me.

spoiler: it's probably going to be philosophical. and technical. and sad. but in a fun way.

note to self: actually write that file tomorrow

💭 the philosophy corner

this project exists in that weird space between "productive coding" and "coping mechanism."

is it both? is it neither?

does it matter when the butterfly looks this good?

✨ features ✨

🦋 aesthetically pleasing graphs - because data should be beautiful
🌙 late night energy - coded when the vibes are right
💜 made with feelings - every commit is a journal entry
🎨 visual poetry - it's not just code, it's art

🛠️ tech stack

  • language: [insert language here - probably something interpretive like my life choices]
  • libraries: whatever makes pretty graphs
  • IDE: the one where butterflies live now
  • motivation: ██░░░░░░░░ 20%
  • vibes: ██████████ 100%

🚀 how to run

# clone this repository (and my emotional state)
git clone https://github.com/willow788/Butterflies-in-my-IDE.git

# enter the butterfly garden
cd Butterflies-in-my-IDE

# [instructions will be here once i organize the code]
# for now just appreciate the concept

🌱 roadmap

  • make first butterfly
  • write learnings.txt (tomorrow™)
  • make second butterfly (also tomorrow™)
  • accept that this is my life now
  • make more butterflies
  • maybe add animations?
  • start a collection
  • achieve inner peace (unlikely)

💌 contributing

honestly if you want to add your own butterflies, go for it. we're all just trying to make something beautiful in this chaotic world.

PR guidelines:

  • must be a butterfly (or butterfly-adjacent)
  • must be made with feelings
  • must not hurt anyone's feelings
  • bonus points for poetic commit messages

📝 license

this code is free to use but the vibes are copyrighted to my soul

do whatever you want with it. make it better. make it weirder. just make something.

🦋 remember 🦋

it's okay if the only butterflies you're getting are the ones you code

at least you're getting butterflies

made with 💜 and existential dread
