Make a distributable file

1. Bundle your code into a .love file using this guide

Transfer the file

1. Send your .love file to your iOS device (I use AirDrop from my dev MacBook to the iPad)
2. On your iOS device receiving the .love file, choose Open with... love2d-studio
3. Do check the iOS device's Files app to clear multiple (old) versions in the Downloads folder, especially those sent via AirDrop

Test the file on iOS

1. Your .love file should appear in a list on the left, tap the 3 dots on the right of the filename and select Run
